A great smoky eye has the potential to take your look from cute to vixen in a matter of seconds. I’ve shared a few smokey eye looks in the past (you can find them here and here) but with the release of the new Urban Decay Naked Heat eyeshadow palette, I knew I had to try out the palette create a fiery fall smokey eye! Urban Decay kindly sent me the new palette recently and I can say without a doubt this is one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes of all time. This palette contains 12 amber-hue neutrals including browns, oranges and red pigments. Each shade is highly pigmented and has a velvet finish – perfect for blending. As usual, this Naked palette comes with a full size mirror and blending brush. Keep reading for a step-by-step tutorial on how I achieved this fiery smokey eye!
Step 1:
To begin, I coated my eyelids with my all time favorite foundation to even out my skin tone. While some prefer eyeshadow primers, I use this full coverage foundation to make my eyeshadow pop.
Step 2:
Next I applied the shade ounce to the inner corner of my eyes and just underneath my brow. This color helps to highlight and make my eyes appear larger.
Step 3:
I applied the gorgeous peach shade Sauced across my lids. This shade is slightly darker than my skin tone and gives my eyelids a great base color.
Step 4:
I applied the shades He Devil and Cayenne to my creases and underneath my eyes along my lash line. To apply these shades, I used the brush provided in the palettes and essentially mixed them together on the brush, then applied it to my eyes.
Step 5:
To up the drama, I added the shades En Fuego and Ashes to the outer corners of my crease, closest to my hair. Once again, I blended both colors together before applying. I then applies these colors to the outer corners of my lash line.
Step 6:
To add a bit of shimmer, I went back and added the shade Scorched to the center of my lids. I love how this shade gives a true fiery finish to the look!
Step 7:
To finish off the look, I added a winged liner with this black liquid liner (I just tried out this liner and absolutely adore the formula – and feline packaging!) and this mascara to lengthen my lashes! If you’re on the lookout for a new mascara I highly recommend this mascara for the brush alone! the large bristles allow plenty of product to build on your lashes!
