How To Curl Your Hair With A Straightener
Ladies and gentleman, I have done the unthinkable. After years of trying to replicate YouTube hair tutorials and failing (miserably) I have finally mastered the art of curling my hair with a straightener. Turns out it isn’t as hard as it looks – all you need is some practice (and a great straightener)! I highly recommend practicing the technique with your straightener turned off. You know, so you don’t fry the absolute heck out of your precious hair.
How To Curl Your Hair With A Straightener:
Step 1: Section off a 1-inch piece of hair.
Step 2: With one hand pull this piece of your hair away from your face.
Step 3: With your other hand, position the straightener so the base of the straightener (opposite end of where the chord is) is pointing towards the ground.
Step 4: Take the straightener and clamp it over the section of your hair at the root of your hair (closest to your head)
Step 5: Using the straightener, slowly twist your hair away from your face and slide it down the section towards the tips (furthest from your head)
Step 6: Remove the straightener and gently twist your hair into a full curl
Step 7: For a tighter curl, apply a finishing spray while the curl is still warm
Tips to making the process easier:
1 – Use a straightener that is tug-free (such as the Panasonic nanoe). This will make a world of difference when you’re twisting the iron through your hair!
2 – Start with freshly dried hair. If your hair is currently straightened, the curl won’t hold as well
3 – Don’t put your straightener on full heat. To avoid hair breakage, opt for a medium heat option.
