Starbucks Inspired Strawberry Watermelon Iced Tea Recipe

Even though I’m (beyond) excited for fall, that doesn’t mean I won’t be celebrating the last few weeks of summer! A few days ago, my friends and I spent the day at a gorgeous quarry filled with crystal blue water. We swam in the water with our flamingo pool floats (no shame), enjoyed an amazing picnic lunch and enjoyed the summer sun. We decided to have a potluck and I was in charge of the beverages and desserts. Our girl gang loves fruity drinks, so I challenged myself to come up with a new recipe. I had just picked up a bunch of TAZO teas (on sale!) at my local Whole Foods, so I knew I wanted to create an iced tea! Let’s just say I’m pretty darn proud of myself. The girls loved my Strawberry Watermelon Iced Tea and requested I bring it back for girls night! Keep reading for the delicious recipe!

Preparation time: 10 minutes | Yield: serves 8 people
Ingredients:
- 2 TAZO zen green tea bags
- 3 cups of water
- 3 cups of watermelon juice (puree if possible!)
- 2 cups of sliced strawberries
- 2 cups of ice
- watermelon slices to garnish
- mint leaves to garnish
Directions:
Step 1: Steep Tea
Boil water and pour it into a medium-sized bowl. Add 2 TAZO zen green tea bags. Cover and steep 2 1/2 minutes. All tea to cool to room temperature.
Step 2: Add Watermelon Juice

Once the green tea is room temperature add the watermelon juice. Puree is preferred (and tastier!) but store bought watermelon juice can be used as well!
Step 3: Add Strawberry Slices & Ice

For an extra hit of fruit flavor, add the sliced strawberries. Not only will they elevate the taste, but they’ll also add a pop of color! To finish off – add the ice!
Step 4: Pour Drink(s) & Garnish

I used watermelon slices and mint leaves to garnish the drinks! Girls are all about presentation (duh) so I had to make sure these drinks were pretty enough to get all the oohs and aahs!
