Affordable Christmas Dress Outfit Idea: A Flattering Green Dress Under $40
Looking for a cute Christmas dress that won’t break the bank? Girl, I’ve got you covered! Between Christmas shopping, holiday parties, family dinners and all the festive activities on our calendars, December can get expensive fast. But looking fabulous for the holidays doesn’t have to mean spending a fortune on a new outfit. When I originally put together this look, I found the prettiest affordable Christmas dress for under $40, and I was instantly obsessed! With its flattering fit-and-flare silhouette, feminine ruffle details and gorgeous green colour, it was the perfect combination of festive, comfortable and chic. Today, I’m sharing how I styled this little green dress with black over-the-knee boots, a classic crossbody bag and delicate gold jewellery for an easy holiday outfit that works for Christmas dinner, festive date nights and holiday parties.
Why I Love This Affordable Christmas Dress
Can we talk about how difficult it can be to find a Christmas dress that’s cute, flattering, comfortable and affordable? When I spotted this gorgeous fit-and-flare dress, I knew I had to have it! It had all my favourite feminine details: pretty ruffles, flattering sleeves, a defined waist and a playful skirt that made the entire outfit feel a little more special. The fit-and-flare silhouette is one of my favourite dress styles because it creates definition at the waist while allowing the skirt to flow away from the hips. It’s such a pretty option if you love dresses that feel polished without being overly fitted. And the length? Perfect for a family Christmas dinner! For reference, I’m 5’10” with long legs, so finding dresses that feel comfortable in length can sometimes be a challenge. This one worked beautifully for me, and the hemline may fall a little lower on someone shorter. The dress originally came in five colours: black, red, purple, yellow and green. I chose green because it felt especially festive for Christmas, but the red and black versions would also make gorgeous holiday outfits. At the time, the dress was priced under $40, making it one of my favourite affordable holiday fashion finds.
I paired my dress with these stunning OTK boots. I love how they fit tight in the calves -so they stay up all day long! If you have medium-small sized calves I highly recommend these boots! I have thin calves and always have the hardest time finding OTK boots that actually stay up – these do the trick! They come in 4 colors. As for accessories, I’m wearing my oldie but goodies Marc Jacobs cross body (comes in 6 colors) and gold initial necklace. If you’re looking for the perfect Christmas gift for any woman in your life I highly suggest this necklace! It’s the perfect delicate necklace (great for layering) and has “one in a million” engraved on the back. It’s also under $60! As for my lip color? I’m wearing this liquid lip color in “Dance With Me”.
