Girls only want a few things: clear skin, strong coffee and a new designer bag. It’s simple really. But who wants glowing skin at the cost of a 30-minute DIY egg-yolks-yogurt-parfait-honey-glazed-orange-peel face mask dripping all over the place?! I’m dishing out my best beauty hacks to save you time – and get the healthy skin you always wanted!
ORDER AN H2O WITH YOUR MORNING LATTE:
Yes mom, I know I need to drink more water. It will flush out toxins, boost my immune system, clear my skin, blah blah blah. But it’s just not coffee, ya know?! For ladies who need their daily caffeine: I’ve got the perfect compromise for you! In addition to your usual water intake, consume an iced water with each caffeinated beverage. Most coffee shops give out iced water for free! Case in point: when ordering my beloved Iced White Mocha (no whip), I also order a venti iced water. I make sure to down both in one sitting. Genius? I think so!
INVEST IN A FOUNDATION WITH SUNSCREEN:
Us gals love a great deal – and there’s nothing like scoring a 2-for-1! Well, turns out if you do your research, you can get a foundation that not only evens out your skin tone but also protects your skin from sun damage! The thought of rubbing sticky sunscreen over my face every morning makes my skin crawl. Problem solved: find a foundation loaded with SPF! Some of my favorites include: MAC Mineralize Moisture SPF 15 Foundation, NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Powder Foundation SPF 24, Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15, Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 20, L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup SPF 20 and Estee Lauder Resilience Lift Extreme Radiant Lifting Makeup SPF 15.
STORE CLEANSING WIPES IN YOUR NIGHTSTAND:
Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt too lazy to complete your nightly skincare routine. Those nights when you’re nestled in your bed, falling asleep to Friends re-runs (I know I’m not the only one!) and can’t be bothered to complete the whole facial nightly routine – grab a cleansing wipe! At the very least, do your face a justice and wipe your makeup off. Makeup left on your face overnight can create unwanted acne, blackheads and dehydrate your skin. It takes less than 30 seconds to exfoliate and clean your pores with a wipe! Grab a pack and leave them in your nightstand for easy access. I’d recommend St. Ives Wipes, Simple Facial Wipes, Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes and Neutrogena Cleansing Wipes.
HYDRATE WHILE YOU SLEEP:
Don’t have time for a 30-minute face mask? Hydrate your face while you sleep! Using overnight masks rehydrate and nourish your skin to prevent aging. There are a plethora of face masks out there at all price points including: Origins Drink Up Overnight Mask, Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask, First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Overnight Mask and Lancome Energie de Vie The Overnight Recovery Sleeping Mask. How’s that for a time saver?!
DON’T FORGET YOUR C + D:
No, I’m not talking about Chuck and Dan from Gossip Girl. I’m talking about the next best thing to graze our cheeks – Vitamin C and Vitamin D! I love that Vitamin C plays an important role in supporting our immune health. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying that you can only feel as good as you look. With Vitamin C, you are prepared to look and feel your best. Combine that with Vitamin D which helps support strong bones and teeth and you’ve got yourself complete beauty necessities. For this reason, I take Sundown Naturals® Vitamin C and Vitamin D Adult Gummies (from my local Walmart it is the place for a large variety of Sundown Naturals® Vitamins for the entire family!) every night before bed. I love that they are also free of gluten, dairy and artificial flavors.
I hope y’all enjoyed these tips! Let me know if you have any beauty hacks to add to the list!
