First Trimester Pregnancy Amazon Essentials
I can honestly say I’ve been humbled by pregnancy! I never knew just how difficult it can be on your body (even in a relatively ‘easy’ pregnant) and I have a new found admiration for every single mom out there! Now that I’m in my second trimester I can confirm – the first trimester is a beast in itself. Today I’m sharing my top Amazon essentials during my first trimester in hopes of reaching those in their first trimester (whether now or in the future!).
Sunglasses, $16-$20
I think I wore less makeup and looked more tired than I ever have in my life during my first trimester. Many days I had no energy/ could care less about my appearance. Which is when big sunglasses come in handy! I would throw on a pair of these, these or these while running errands or going on dog walks as a quick pick me up!
My Pregnancy Journal, $32.95
I knew I wanted to journal my experience as a newly pregnant momma – and I’m so glad I stumbled upon this pregnancy journal! I had originally picked up another journal but I didn’t like the prompts (every entry asked for current weight and worst part of the week – neither of which I’d like to remember lol). This Peachly journal has more positive, upbeat prompts and the design inside is gorgeous. It even has a pocket in the back of the journal to write a letter to your future babe! I’d highly recommend this journal! It comes in multiple designs as well!
Summer Fridays Lip Balm, $23.50
When I found out I was pregnant I made the decision to switch skincare and makeup products to cleaner, pregnancy safe products. I found this website helpful to weed out the not-so-clean products I was using. Thank goodness, my all time favorite lip balm was a green light! If you haven’t tried the Summer Fridays lip balm you absolutely must. Every lip balm smells amazing and they have the perfect moisturizing, not sticky, formula that has great staying power. They have a clear lip gloss and tinted balms. Pregnant or not, you must try this product! My favorite shares are Vanilla and Vanilla Beige, but they’re all amazing!
Honest Beauty Body Cream, $14.24
Speaking of clean beauty products, I switched a few of my products out for the Honest Beauty Skincare line. I liked this particular cleanser as it is sensitive skin friendly and has calming chamomile extracts. I am a big fan!
dae Shampoo + dae Conditioner, $28.00
I have used Olaplex hair products for a while, but when I found out I was pregnant I started using the dae Shampoo and Conditioner! Years ago I used the infamous Amber Fillerup Clark’s shampoo and conditioner line and I don’t know why I ever stopped! It is honestly the best smelling shampoo and conditioner I’ve EVER smelled. It has a warm citrus vanilla scent and they need to make a perfume ASAP. And they are pregnancy safe!
e.l.f Concealer 16 Hour Camo Concealer, $7
I was heart-broken and slightly panicked when I discovered my beloved Tarte Shapetape Concealer didn’t make the pregnancy safe list. If you’ve ever used it, you know the amazing coverage and staying power it provides. And momma needs help with her dark circles! I did some research and e.l.f’s 16-Hour Camo Concealer was alleged to be nearly identical and on the pregnancy safe list. But how can a $7 concealer live up to the $40+ Tarte Shapetape?! I can’t explain it – but it might be JUST AS GOOD. I was gobsmacked. If you haven’t tried it already – run to your closest drugstore or order it on Amazon!
3-Piece Lounge Set, $40.79
Comfort matters during the first trimester of pregnancy. I ended up gravitating towards this 3-piece lounge set quite often. It is so comfortable, lightweight and comes in a bunch of colors! I will be uploading a reel dedicated to this lounge set- that’s how good it is! I know have it in cream and black!
Tug-Free Cotton Ponytail Holders, $7.98
As a preggo I run hot, so these cotton hair elastics have been on-the-go with me in my purse, in my car, in all the places. They come in a pack of 100 and don’t tug on your hair! I love them!
Slippers, $9.99
I also gravitated towards these slippers often during my first trimester. They are super comfortable and open toe – which is great when you run hot while preggo. I love these slippers so much I gifted them to my bridesmaids the morning of my wedding to wear during the getting ready portion of the morning.
40oz Stanley Tumbler, $45.00
One thing about me: I drink a LOT of water. In the first trimester of pregnancy I couldn’t drink enough water. I was constantly thirsty (turns out you have to drink a TON more water when pregnant) so having this bad boy by my side made it easy to get in my H2O.
The Most Comfortable Leggings On Amazon, $32
If you’re a fan of Lulu Lemon’s Align Leggings, these leggings are the closest thing I’ve found to them! I wrote a full blog post on them here. During my first trimester, I practically lived in leggings. I bought a few extra pairs of these leggings in my normal size (they have lots of stretch!). If you are showing earlier, they also offer a maternity version I began wearing towards the end of my second trimester (I bought my pre-pregnancy size in those as well).
Burt’s Bees Belly Cream, $6.50
I am doing everything in my power to avoid stretch marks. I began using the Burt’s Bees Belly Cream, 6 weeks into my pregnancy! I love this product because it is pregnancy safe and fragrance free! I apply it after every shower.
Simple Modern 40 oz Tumbler, $34.99
In addition to Stanley tumblers, I enjoy using Simple Modern tumblers! They come in tons of aesthetic colors and don’t leak!
Ice Thermal Head Wrap, $29.95
During my first trimester, I got a few major headaches. This Ice Thermal Head Wrap came to my rescue every time! For those who suffer major headaches I would highly recommend this tool!
Preggie Pop Drops, $4.69
If you purchase only one thing from this post – let it be these drug-free anti-nausea pregnancy safe hard candies. I tried tons of other anti-nausea gummies, mints, etc. None of them worked. Anything with ginger made my stomach turn even more! But these candies not only taste like actual candies, they WORK! They come in four flavors, sour lemon, sour raspberry, sour tangerine, and green apple. I initially tried the variety pack to see which flavors I liked most. My favorite by far are the Green Apple variety so I stocked up on those! Each hard candy is individually wrapped to stay fresh – perfect for on-the-go moms. They’re a great drug alternative to those who aren’t pregnant as well!
FullWell Prenatal Multivitamin + Fish Oil, $71.06
Before trying to conceive I knew I wanted to load my body up with prenatal vitamins. My cousin Ashley (mother of 4 healthy and precious babes!) recommended FullWell Prenatal Multivitamins. After some research and an OK from my doctor I began taking them 4 months before the bean was created! I love these vitamins as they didn’t make me nauseous (some prenatals can make you nauseous) and they load me up with all the good stuff. I also take the Fish Oil from FullWell! All my blood work has been coming back great and with a relatively easy pregnancy – I can fully recommend them myself!
Clean Skin Towels, $14.36
After using face wipes to remove my makeup for a couple years, my skin finally said absolutely not and I started breaking out with small irritation bumps. I hate doing laundry/ having wet washcloths all over the place so when I came across Clean Skin Towels I became obsessed! They are dermatologist tested biobased bacteria free face towels used to wash and dry your face. I use them with my facial cleanser and eye makeup remover and I haven’t looked back since!
Honest Beauty Deep Hydration Face Cream, $28.27
I switched out my previous face cream with this pregnancy safe facial cream. It does contain a strong lavender fragrance – however this scent oddly soothed my nighttime nausea! It ended up becoming one of my main tools in preventing vomiting.
Honest Beauty Face + Body Wash, $12.08
Another switch in my beauty routine – I started using this face and body wash and love it! It’s fragrance free and does the job! Also, a little goes a long why so you’ll have the bottle for a while!
Floral Heating Pad, $29.99
My back muscles tightened up quite a bit during my first trimester! My heating pad became a lifesaver! I ended up ordering this floral heating pad for a more fun/ aesthetically pleasing addition to my first trimester first essentials kit.
