How To Look And Feel Youthful In Your 30s
I’m still not sure how it happened.. but last December I turned 30. I don’t look or feel 30 (or live the “typical” 30-year old life). When people ask my age they are usually shocked to discover my age – so I thought I’d share some of my tips on how to look and feel youthful in your 30s.
Wear Your Sunscreen
Looking youthful largely weighs on the condition of your skin. Wrinkles, age spots, sagging skin… all signs of aging. Wearing sunscreen daily will slow down the wear and tear on your skin (and increase your chance of skin care). At the very least, wear it on your face and neck. Lately I’ve been wearing Sdara’s Mineral Sunscreen with SPF 30. I love the lightweight, fragrance-free formula (I apply it before I put on my foundation). As soon as I apply – I forget it’s on my skin! Plus, there is no annoying white cast after application – so you won’t look like a ghost! It’s also paraben-free, fragrance-free, gluten-free, silicone-free, cruelty-free, hypoallergenic and vegan. It’s under $25 and you can pick it up here.
Make Time For Girlfriends
Whether you’re single, engaged, married, divorced, a mother – it’s so important to make time for your girlfriends. Girl time is essential! Every time I hangout with my girlfriends I leave feeling uplifted, supported and loved. I also just have fun! If you don’t feel this way after hanging out with your friends – find yourself some new friends. There’s so many women out there looking for friends. How do you make friends in your 30s? At church, volunteering, mom dates, during hobbies, or even in your daily life! The receptionist at my dentist’s office has always been super sweet – so one day I point blank asked if she would like to go for coffee sometime! I still consider her a dear friend to this day! Put your ego aside and be-friend a stranger.
Make An Effort On Your Appearance
Before I get any flack hear me out. This has little to do with what you look like in your 30s (or older!) – and more so making the effort to present your best self. When we age, get married, have children, get comfortable – we sometimes let ourselves go. If makeup isn’t your thing – maybe style your hair more often. Do 30 minutes of cardio 3x a week to keep your body healthy. Paint your nails a fun color. Put on a pair of jeans instead of leggings a couple times a week. Even if you’re only wearing a T-shirt, go for a high-quality shirt with a nice design and accessorize to dress up the outfit. Trust me it will make you look and feel youthful and put together.
Be Mindful Of Your Health
Women face many health issues that are only specific to them, and some of them have to do with our reproductive health. Ageing, pregnancy, and menopause bring many changes in a woman’s body, and that is why it is very important to be mindful of our health. Take special care by practicing proper hygiene and taking supplements for reproductive health. By doing so, you may be able to prevent specific health issues and live healthily.
Get On Tik Tok
No seriously, just do it. It’s not just for the kids – it’s for all ages! I’ve had some of my best laughing sessions watching Tik Toks. I’ve also bought some of the best life hacks off Amazon (but let’s not go there right now). Tik Tok is so much more than random people dancing or lip syncing infant of their phones. There’s cute puppy videos, educational (but still fun!) videos, exercise tips, book recommendations, prank videos (you will laugh until you cry watching these) and more! There is something for everything and y’all I’m hooked. You can follow me here!
