8 Holistic Remedies For Anxiety
I’m one anxious cat. After years of escalating anxiety I was finally diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. What does that mean? The chemicals in my brain can’t get their shit together – so I have to take medicine to help them out. It can be frustrating when you literally can’t convince your brain you’re nowhere near danger, but it’s a part of who I am. Most individuals will experience anxiety sometime in their life – whether it’s mild butterflies or full blown anxiety attacks. Today Jenna from Prada & Pearls and I are sharing 14 holistic anxiety remedies that help us manage our anxiety – and hopefully will help yours too!

1 Good Nite Essential Oil
I literally just discovered this essential oil blend and it’s my new all time favorite. It has lavender essential oil mixed with tangerine essential oil (and a few others) and it is heaven. I put it in my bath, on my sheets, in my shower etc. It’s the most relaxing blend I’ve come across – it instantly relaxes my body and puts me in a deeper sleep. Can’t recommend enough! Grab it here!
2 Lavender Epsom Salt Baths
When I’m feeling extreme anxiety – it creates lots of tensions in my muscles. Lavender baths kill two birds with one stone in that the hot water and epsom salt will help to relax your muscles – and the lavender will aid in calming your mind. I highly recommend this lavender bubble bath and this epsom salt mix.
3 Use A Heating Pad
When I get anxious, my stomach typically becomes upset. A heating pad helps to soothe my stomach – especially at night. I keep a heating pad in my bedside table and put it overtop my blanket so the heat isn’t as direct. Works like a charm!
4 A ‘Just Incase’ Pouch In Your Purse
I always carry a ‘just incase’ pouch with me in my purse. This includes all the things I need to put me at ease incase of an anxiety attack. Everyone’s pouch will look different, but a few things in mine include – a hand fan (I get really hot when I have anxiety), a hair elastic (to put my hair up), dramamine (incase my stomach acts up) and more.
5 Get Your Exercise On
Anxiety can give you unwanted jitters and agitation. There are so many benefits to exercise – including a release of anxious nerves. It’s important to find a type of exercise you actually enjoy. For me, it’s power walks. Make it a priority to exercise 3-4 times a week. It’s amazing how much of a difference you’ll notice with your anxiety.
6 Cozy Up With Some Tea
Ahh, green tea. Not only does drinking green tea give you that “cozy” feeling, it is also loaded with antioxidants and nutrients which help to restore the body. There is something about unwinding from the day in bed with a tea. If your stomach is sore from the side effects of anxiety, green tea helps to soothe it. I’ve found it helps to relieve anxiety. At the very least, it’s great for your body! I love this tea, especially!
7 Find Your Happy Place
We all have that place that makes us feel happy. Mine just so happens to be Target. So sue me. All jokes aside, find a local spot that brings you peace and calmness. Maybe it’s a park nearby or a coffee shop. When you’re feeling anxious, visit that spot for a quick cool down.
8 Surround Yourself With A Support System
When you have anxiety, it’s so important to surround yourself with a support system. All of my closest family and friends are aware of my anxiety and my personal triggers. This gives me an enormous blanket of comfort. I know when I’m around them – they have my back and can talk me through my anxiety. It’s super important to be open and honest to at least a select few members of your family or friends.
