My 5 Favorite Fashion Spring Trends
Hi loves! Ah spring, you perky thing you! Spring amazes me every year, plants begin to grow new buds, people snap out of their seasonal affective blues and the world is full of smiles again. I’m super excited to share 5 of my favorite style and beauty trends this spring. There are some goodies, so make sure to read until the end!
Who else remembers the era of shoulder pads? You know, the literal pads sewn into tops, blazers and jackets? Well, that style has resurfaced, this time as more delicate “puffed” shoulders. They work well on tops, dresses, and outerwear for an extra shot of sass. Plus, for those of us without an hourglass figure, this style gives the impression of a smaller waist!

Perhaps the most noticeable spring trend this year is hair accessories! Remember when we used to decorate our hair with scrunchies, butterfly clips and barrettes?! Well, these nostalgic goodies are back and better than ever! Large pearl embellished clips seem to be the “it” hair accessory this year and I’ve been trying it out! If you follow me on instastories you may. remember a poll I took on whether y’all where into pearl embellished clips. The results ended up being surprisingly close. YAY to pearl embellished clips won… by a hair. It’s safe to say you’ll either love or hate this trend.

If you hadn’t noticed, I’m am beyond obsessed with paper bag waist bottoms. Yes, please! Paper bag waist pants are super comfortable – not only are they looser fitting than your typical skinny jean, they also help to conceal your stomach area. If you’re like me and hate sucking in your gut, you can quite literally let it all hangout with paper bag waist pants/shorts. No biggie. Any bottoms that allow me to enjoy a large dinner (with dessert afterwards!) and a yes in my books.

Straw and woven bags are here to stay! These bags come in a variety of shapes and designs, which partner perfectly with spring pastel hues. Straw and Woven bags are a lot more versatile than you may think. Whether you’re out to brunch with your besties or planning a trip to the beach, straw and woven bags will compliment your outfit perfectly! Bonus: the material is typically lightweight, giving your bag a well deserved break!

I’m totally here for the square neckline trend. It’s a fresh alternative to majorly overdone scoop and v necklines. Square necklines are flattering as they create an illusion of a slender neck and broader shoulders. Bonus: this neckline emphasizes the bust area! Whether you’re blessed with a bigger chest or a member of the IBT club, this look is universally flattering. Square necklines look super cute on bodysuits (as pictured above), dresses and tops. Plus, square necklines give me Outlander vibes – and I’m all for it.
