Right now, fashion as a whole is veering towards the casual side. A mix of pandemic comfort wear and a lack of formal events to attend mean comfy casual is in! So what to do when it comes to a first, second or third date? Today I’m sharing an easy (and affordable) casual fall date outfit anyone can pull off.

On a first date, it’s important you feel comfortable in the outfit you’re in. Your date will notice you pulling up your too loose jeans, or complaining about your blister inducing pumps. If you’re wanting to rock an easy casual fall outfit – keep it simple. Rock your favorite black leggings. I adore this pair as they are ultra high waisted (help to suck your gut in) and mold to your legs. You’ll never want to wear another pair of jeans on a date again. I usually pair my leggings with a printed top (my favorite $15 ultra comfy leopard bodysuit pictured) and runners. I prefer to wear white canvas shoes as they are less casual than full-on runners.
And now for the secret weapon to a casual fall outfit: a button front coat. No matter what you’re wearing – this jacket will elevate your outfit. I wear this jacket non-stop during the fall (it contains wool so it keeps me warm enough over a t-shirt). It’s under $60 and I love it so much I just ordered it in black! It fits oversized so I’d suggest going down a size. I’m usually a size medium but the small fits perfectly! It is available in black, cognac, grey and navy.
