It’s still a winter wonderland here in Ottawa, but that won’t stop me from shooting some outfit shots for y’all! Props to my girl Marie for shooting these photos, while her hands were a bright shade of red. It’s a wonder any of these photos turned out as she was shaking taking them! Don’t worry, I returned the favour for her – then we quickly ran into Headquarters (aka our new favorite coffee shop to work in!). Ps. if you ever visit Ottawa you need to stop in! Their menu is delicious, they make some gorgeous latte art and the staff is incredibly friendly!
As for my outfit? I opted for an easy business casual outfit. While I work for myself, I always make it a priority to dress like I’m about to head into an office (I typically work in local coffee shops!). Why? Applying makeup and dressing up always puts me in a girl boss state of mind. I simply can’t concentrate in pajamas (props to you if you can!). I am loving this black blazer (under $50) and how it instantly dresses up any outfit. When I was completing my Master’s program, I would typically wear comfortable leggings, a nice top and blazer to dress it up. It’s my secret weapon to dressing up comfortable outfits! Underneath I’m wearing a grey turtleneck sweater dress (similar here under $20!), my go-to black leggings (a cheaper alternative to Lulu Lemon Wonderunders). I finished off the outfit with my beloved cognac OTK boots (they also come in black and grey). While they’re not the best for snowy winter days, I’m excited to wear them into spring! Unfortunately, my bag is sold out, but I’ve got my eye on a similar embellished black bag under $35!).
