Hi beauties! Anyone else stressed out over this election? I’ll do my best to distract you for a few minutes with a quick sparkly nail tutorial! I’ve decided the cure to everything is… sparkles! Without further ado – here is my quick and easy Thanksgiving inspired nail tutorial!
1. All About The Base
We want this cute mani to stay put as long as possible – so you’ll want to create a lasting base. My current favorite base coats are this one (save) and this one (splurge)! The only difference I see between the two is this one (splurge) is more of a “foundation” for nails, meaning it evens out the base color of your nails (perfect for color stained/ yellowing nails). When using this base coat, I feel I don’t have to do as many coats of nail polish! Don’t worry, this base coat (save) works well too! It also acts as a nail “foundation”, however the base color isn’t as pigmented. It does however have a pretty price tag at half the price!
2. Go Nude
Next, apply a nude color to your nails! For this look, I used my current favorite nude of all time that I swear by! It looks great on all skin tones – from my palest of friends to my dark beauty goddesses! Seriously, it’s great. I applied 2 coats and let it dry completely.
3. Time to Shine!
Here comes the fun part! You’ll want to apply a glitter gold nail polish to half of your nail diagonally! While I applied the sparkle polish free hand, I’ll give you a quick hack for beginnings (or those with shakey hands!). Place a dot of sparkle polish on the upper left corner of your nail and then the bottom right corner of your nail. Connect these two dots in a straight line with the sparkle polish, starting at the upper left corner. Then, fill in the rest of the right side of the nail! Apply two coats, letting dry completely. Having trouble applying to your right hand (or left hand for your left-handed gals?!). Get a friend or partner to do it!
For this look, I used this nail color as I love how it contains different sized gold sparkles! Here is another gold sparkle favorite! Not a fan of gold? No problem! Here is a silver and rose gold alternative! Next time I’m going to try a rose gold look!
4. Protect With a Top Coat
Give your mani even more shine with a top coat! After your nails are *completely dry* apply one coat of top coat! I’ve been using this top coat lately and loving it!
