A step-by-step fresh faced makeup tutorial for spring
Hey y’all! Today I wanted to share a fun, fresh-faced makeup tutorial just in time for spring. I love the simplicity of this look, with a focus on contouring and a brightly colored lip. Today I’ll be using Clinique’s line of Chubby Sticks™ from foundation to counter and lipstick! Here it is!
Step 1: Apply Foundation
To begin this look, even out your skin tone with foundation. I have been adoring Clinque’s new Chubby in the Nude™ Foundation Stick which is basically the most brilliant thing to happen to the foundation. This portable, completely mess-free foundation can be used for all over coverage or spot concealing. I love the buildable coverage, allowing me to rock a natural look, or full-on glam. The formula is soft and creamy and contains soft polymeric gels and waxes which provide eight hour-long coverage. Now is the fun part: application! Clinique believes there is no “one way” to apply foundation. Apply however you want. In lines, shapes, dots. Whatever you please. Just make sure to blend evenly with your fingers!
Step 2: Highlight
Next, apply a highlighter. I know what you’re thinking. That girl just drew sunshine on her cheek! You’re right! Remember when I said Clinique doesn’t believe in one specific type of application? Well, they have gone so far as to encourage doodling your makeup on your face. I’ll take whatever fun I can get in the morning (#NotAMorningPerson) – including doodling my makeup on from everything from foundation highlighter and blush! I used Clinique’s Chubby Stick™ Sculpting Highlight (a holy grail item of mine) and blended it on the bridge of my nose, center of my forehead and my upper cheekbones. With light-reflecting optics, this product seriously illuminates your face!
Step 3: Contour
Clinique has an equally awesome Chubby Stick™ Sculpting Contour which draws on quite dark, however, blends incredibly! This contour creates the illusion of depth in your face, which is necessary for round-faced individuals like me! I contour the edges of my forehead, the sides of my nose, my cheekbones and my jawline. This product is long-lasting and applies smoothly. It’s a goodie.
Step 4: Add Blush
Now come the clown cheeks! In all seriousness, Clinique’ Chubby Stick™ Cheek Colour Balms are #amazing and create a healthy-looking glow instantly. Similar to the Chubby Stick™ Sculpting Contour, the color fades quite significantly when blending, creates a subtle, natural glow. Perfect for spring! I opted for the shade Robust Rhubarb for a fresh look!
Step 5: Highlight Eyes
To make your eyes pop, apply a highlighter to the top arc of your brow and inner corners of your eyes. I used Clinique’s Chubby Stick™ Shadow Tint For Eyes in Grandest Gold to lift my eyes. This lightweight, creamy color is easy to layer and long-lasting. This product, in particular, is also appropriate for sensitive eyes and contact wearers like me!
Step 6: Apply Lip Color
To brighten up the look, apply bright lip color. I used Clinique’s Chubby Stick Baby Tint™ Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Mega Melon to bring life to my lips. I love how easy this product applies and is moisturizing without feeling “heavy”. These products are meant to bring out your lips natural color and therefore look different on everyone! How cool!
Step 7: Finish with Mascara
Finally, finish off the look by applying mascara. I had falsies on, so I gently applied two coats of Clinique’s Chubby Lash™ Fattening Mascara on my upper and bottom lashes. This mascara is great for both lengthening and volumizing your lashes. It is one of my go-tos!
