My name is Michelle Kehoe and I am a lipstick hoarder. There, I said it. Now that my lipstick obsession is out in the open, you can imagine my excitement when I discovered Burt’s Bees was releasing a new line of 100% natural lipsticks. As I have mentioned before, I have extremely sensitive skin – so I have to be careful with beauty products I use on my face. Luckily, my skin has always loved Burt’s Bees (and their dedication to using natural products) so when I saw the lipsticks displayed at Target a grabbed a handful. These lipsticks feature natural ingredients including Moringa, Raspberry Seed Oil, Beeswax, Vitamin E all of which help to keep lips feel moisturized and conditioned all day long! Today I wanted to share with you my 3 favorite Burt’s Bees lipsticks!
As you can see, I gravitated towards the darker lip colors within the Burt’s Bees collection. In winter, I love wearing a dark, bold lip so I have been wearing all three recently. I absolutely love how smooth the lipsticks apply and leave a satin finish. These lipsticks are lightweight and are ideal for everyday wear.
The first lipstick I gravitated towards when in Target was Scarlet Soaked – which happens to be the most brilliant red in the collection. This girl loves a fierce red lip. Which the lipstick takes a few coats to reach its full brilliance, it doesn’t cake or apply clumpy like some lipsticks. I absolutely love the pop of red this lipstick provides! With blue undertones, this lipstick makes my teeth appear even whiter than normal! That’s always a plus!
The next lipstick which caught my eye was Juniper Water! I have been experimenting with dark berry lips this winter and I have to say – I love it! Again, it took a few coats to build up to the deep berry color I wanted – however, the application went smoothly! I love how this shade provides a punch of color but doesn’t give me a vampy look! I think I will continue to use this shade into spring – applying 1-2 coats for a lighter finish!
Finally, while Ruby Ripple appears as a purple plum shade in the tube is transformed into a red-ish hue on my skin! While it doesn’t appear as red as Scarlet Soaked, it does give off a bold cherry feel. Surprisingly, this shade applied the darkest on me with one coat – meaning I didn’t have to use as much product, which I loved!
