The perfect gift for the introvert in your life.
If there is one thing I absolutely adore… it’s Christmas! My brother and I are both Christmas babies (my birthday is December 22nd and his is the 20th) so I’m used to having month long celebrations filled with family, friends, food and gifts! Within my family, I have always been the gift wrapper. I remember my mom giving me the choice of either gift wrapping or house cleaning in preparation for extended family festivities. Hello! I’ll wrap gifts any day! I began wrapping my pile of Christmas gifts last night, Christmas music in the background, sipping on hot cocoa. Such classic feel-good times.
Speaking of Christmas gifts, if any of you are looking for a great book to gift this Christmas I highly recommend ‘Quiet’ by Susan Cain. This book is a brilliant and personal look into the mind of an introvert – those who prefer listening to speaking – prefer small intimate gatherings rather than noisy crowded parties – those people, like me, who just need time to un-wind from daily activities. My whole life I thought something was wrong with me – why did I prefer staying in watching Netflix rather than going to a house party? Why did I constantly feel socially exhausted? Thanks to a Myers Briggs test I took in high school, I discovered I am an introvert. A social introvert. I love spending time with people. But I also love me time. If you can identify with this – you may want to pick up a copy for yourself. Or better yet – you may want to pick up a copy for your highly extroverted boyfriend/ husband / wife/ friend who just doesn’t understand why you need a night to yourself once in a while. “It’s not you it’s me!” – No really, it’s me. I need time to just unwind. And be quiet.
