Hey y’all! I wanted to give you a chance to get to know me a little better so I reached out to Twitter and Instagram asking what you’d like to know about me! I hope you enjoy this Q+A!
@LifeStyledJana asks: How’d you get started with blogging?
A little over a year ago I began blogging. I had just gone through a really tough breakup and blogging was a great distraction for me. When I blogged it took my mind to a different place – a happy place. A creative place. It was kind of like an online diary for me, except it documented the good in my life. Trips with my friends, charity work I was lucky enough to be apart of, shopping, family vacations. All the little things that made me happy. It helped to change my mindset from negative to positive.
@Tiffy4u asks: What is your favourite aspect of blogging?
There are so many aspects of blogging I absolutely love it’s hard to narrow it down! I would say my favourite would be meeting other bloggers! I have been privileged to have met bloggers who I now consider my close friends. It’s such a joy to connect with other women who share the same interests and values as I do. Meetups can be intimidating, but so worth it in the long run!
@tiffancyblog asks: If you could use one makeup product for the rest of your life what would it be?
Without a question: foundation.
Unfortunately I have a really uneven colouring on my face, so foundation is a God send. Foundation helps to even out my skin tone and give it a glow. My holy grail foundation is MAC’s Pro Longwear foundation (I wear NC25).
@innakukharetswolfe asks: What’s the best tinted moisturizer, or bb cream in your opinion?
@mylifeinmascara asks: Favorite concealer?
My favourite concealer is MAC’s Pro Long Wear Concealer. This concealer is defiantly a holy grail item as it provides full coverage and doesn’t move a smidge all day long. Seriously, I never have to re-apply my concealer. I use this concealer on my eyelids, which works as a great primer for my eyeshadow and liquid eyeliner. I cannot rave enough over this product!
@sarahbeesaw asks: Where do you see yourself in 3 years?
This question always scares the heck out of me. However it does help me to set personal goals. Realistically, at 27 I see myself living in Florida in a cute little house with my dog(s). Perhaps a handsome fellah too. Ideally, I’d love to blog full time, but if not I’d like to be writing for someone else – a magazine, a website etc. I want to continue volunteering at One Heart for Women and Children (a non-profit company).
@shopsrj asks: Favorite bag?
Probably my Tory Burch Perry Tote! It’s such a classic and fits so much! The leather is so so soft, which I love. I’ve gotten so much use out of it – it’s insane!
@ashleybrookenicholas asks: What’s your favourite candle?
@whowhatwherewhyblog asks: What’s in your handbag?
I always have my makeup bag, wallet, Kleenex pack, travel sized umbrella, gum, sunglasses, mini perfume, medicine box, hair ties, water bottle, iPhone, along with other random items.
@angejim asks: What’s your favourite lipstick?
At the moment my favourite lipstick is MAC’s Snob. It gives just the right amount of sass and compliments almost any outfit!
@oblassa asks: How do you get such great beachy waves?
First of all, I only wash my hair once every 2-3 days. I use a t3 hairdryer, which leaves my hair silky smooth once dry. I then apply heat protector and curl my hair with my t3 curling wand. Hairspray, and let be. I honestly attribute the staying power of my waves to the styling products I use.
@mybeautyjunction asks: If the world was going to end in 24 hours, how would you spend them?
I would want to spend every second with my family and friends. I would order a Venti Iced White Mocha with extra whip cream. And all the Pumpkin Scones in stock. I would go the beach with all my loved ones, swim in the ocean, go parasailing, jet skiing, biking on the beach. Take a bunch of pictures. I would eat ice cream and chocolate all day. Have a bonfire at night and set off fireworks. Be happy.
@erikatheicyone asks: You are allowed to buy: New clothes or new makeup for the rest of your life. Which do you choose and why?
I would buy new clothes! I have commitment issues with my wardrobe and often throw my hands up and want to start all over. I love embracing new styles and putting outfits together. I don’t think it would be that hard to stick with the makeup I have (assuming I would have a never ending stock of what I already own). The only struggle would not being able to experiment with and try out new lipsticks. I’m a bit of a lipstick junkie.
