How to Upgrade Your Life


Today I tweeted “I would go so far as to say Starbuck improves the quality of my day”. Post-tweet, I laughed it off and then started thinking – Starbucks seriously does improve the quality of my day. The caffeine, the sugar, the friendly staff. It just does it for me. I recommend every gal should treat herself to at least one per month.

With hours and hours dedicated to typing reports and essays for class I tend to become overly lethargic. Mini daily workouts are essential to re-energize and get that blood pumpin’! Plus, I promised Stephanie from Diary of a Debutante I would be her long distance fitness buddy while she’s training for Miss Florida.

Let me start off by stating I am ashamed I have yet to see this film. Yes, I have read all three books religiously.  I need me some Gale and Finnick in my life, and you do too.

I am blessed with every single friend I have. However, I am a firm believer in introducing new friendships into your life. Variety is the spice of life, afterall!

I don’t know about you, but I just feel better when i’m wearing lipstick. I was a tad naughty and fed my MAC lipstick addiction and bought a {few} new MAC lipsticks while in Florida. I will definitely be sporting those this week!

Every once in a while you deserve to be in the company of a beautiful boy. To my single ladies, scout out a cutie and offer to take him on late night drive and gaze at the stars. For my ladies with hubbies and boyfriends, spice up your relationship with a spontaneous late night drive. And hey, post chocolate covered strawberries never hurt nobody.
When my mind is clouded, I clean. I’m that girl. I love organizing. There is nothing more rejuvenating than sorting through old clothes and donating those you aren’t using to charity.
I wish I could see my grandparents more often. However, they live far away so I try to stay in touch with phone calls. Family has always been my #1 and they keep me sane in every situation. I encourage you to give your grandparents a call this week, it will brighten their day as well as yours.

Taking time out of my day to pray helps me cleanse my mind. For those of you who aren’t religious, meditating is also extremely therapeutic. Light some candles, turn on some soothing music and reflect.

It’s all in the little things. Life is beautiful all around us, yet we often forget to stop and recognize its beauty. This upcoming week, I need to remind myself to slow down. Inhale, exhale. Breathe. Stop and look all around me. I challenge you to slow down as well and pay attention to the little things. After all, the little things often end up being the big things.
