Let’s Talk The Bachelor.

*spoilers ahead*

Ya girl is not happy with The Bachelor. More specifically, Nick as the Bachelor. Beyond his irritating non-stop mumbling, the way he is glorifying sexuality over everything else makes me nauseous. Listen, I know The Bachelor isn’t exactly the most female empowering show out there. But when the Bachelor is handing out a rose to the chic who takes off her bikini top (in front of the other girls and, you know – the world) that strips away (pun intended) a woman’s true worth. You know, a woman is more than the size of her chest. All I could think of is all the young girls watching this act of desperation to capture a man’s attention. And be rewarded. Ladies! I’m here to tell you you don’t need to use your body to get the guy. In fact, if you really want to know if a man is worth your time – show him nothing but your beautiful mind and see if he sticks around. I’ve seen the hate spewing online targeted at Corrine. Girls, what happened to sisterhood? Anyone who has to exploit their sexuality on national television for validation is unfortunately very insecure. It’s girls like this who need love not hate. In a world where women STILL feel they need to protest for their rights – us girls need to support one another more than ever.

This Valentine’s Day.

Don’t forget Valentine’s Day is a day that celebrates love. And love is more than romantic love. It’s family love, friendship love, love for God. Don’t forget to celebrate those. There is so much love around us, in need of celebration.
